More than a six-course program, the IB trains you to be a person with a good personality. Coping with the challenges in IB allows you to adapt quickly to new systems. Your English improves tremendously and your interest in science increases. I passed the English proficiency exam at ITU by taking AA and started the first year without studying the preparatory class.
An education away from the classic high school teaching approach in the IB program taught me to develop my skills, manage my stress and workload. I have acquired critical thinking, strong analysis, and high-level academic writing skills to be able to immerse myself in academic discipline. My perception of scientific knowledge and processes has increased. The IB CAS process, helped me to think alternately, that is, to discover my own strengths and weaknesses.
The IB program was challenging but definitely worth studying. It taught me how to make decisions, focus and manage my time effectively. I learned to work under stress and to reach the right information as quickly as possible. It is very useful for me in university right now. When I compare myself to other graduates, I see that my working and article writing skills are much better because IB forces us to step out of our comfort zone
During the IB math class, I discovered the influence of technology and mathematics on each other, the power of mathematics and the means of communication, which led me to choose the mathematics department at the university. I started to love sports and art with the IB CAS program, which aims to ensure a balanced life.
While my friends at University complained about writing long articles, I realized that I myself had advanced considerably during my IB journey and that I could write easily at University. I’m about to finish 3rd year right now, and in a job interview here, I saw that the manager was very impressed with the CAS work I did in high school.
A statistics course in the Cambridge A-Level program raised my years at the university. The multi-national and multicultural classroom environment at Gökkuşağı Schools made it easier for me to adapt to the Netherlands and the University.
To be honest, I had a hard time in IB at first because it was a new way of learning for me. We also had an online course during IB. Currently, there is a similar practice at the university. Thanks to the online skills I acquired in high school, I am progressing very comfortably in university
The Cambridge A-Levels Mathematics and Physics courses I studied at Gokkusagi School gave me an easy start in the architecture department.
During my first year at the university, I realised that the Mathematics and Science topics were same as the ones I studied in Cambridge A Levels programme at high school. I would definitely recommend the A-Levels program to those who want to study in the UK.
Experimental laboratory studies and reports I prepared in Chemistry and Biology courses for IB’s in-school assessment elements at Gökkuşağı Schools helped me a lot in my practice studies at the university; I managed to get an A+. When I first started IB, my English language skills were poor. At the end of the program, I got a student visa from the UK and was accepted by the university with a score of 7.5/9 in the IELTS exam.
