Double Finalist Pride at TEKNOFEST 2026: GÖKMEN-ZIRH and SİSMİK-KEMER

The GÖKMEN-ZIRH and SİSMİK-KEMER projects developed by our students have reached the TEKNOFEST 2026 finals in two separate categories.

The GÖKMEN-ZIRH and SİSMİK-KEMER projects developed by our students have reached the finals of TEKNOFEST 2026 in two different categories.

Reaching the finals in two separate competition categories in the same year is the result of our students' patient work from idea to prototype, and of their team discipline. Our finalist projects are:

• GÖKMEN-ZIRH · Astronomy and Space Technologies · STF-reinforced smart shield against micrometeorites
• SİSMİK-KEMER · Health and Well-Being Technologies · Smart hip protection system that hardens during a fall

GÖKMEN-ZIRH aims to protect spacecraft against micrometeorite impacts, while SİSMİK-KEMER aims to prevent hip injuries by hardening at the moment of a fall. Both projects show how science learned in the classroom can be turned into an answer to a real problem.

Students from the same team also came first in their region at the 20th TÜBİTAK Middle School Research Projects Competition this year; that work, the "MR-STF Based Hybrid Impact Damping System", forms the basis of both projects here.

We warmly congratulate our students and wish them success in the finals. We also thank the mentor teachers whose guidance made this achievement possible.
