IB PYP Primary school Program

Bahcelievler and Umraniye campuses are IB Primary Years Programme candidate schools. IB PYP is an educational programme which takes place in many national educational system, helps to create a better and more peaceful world recognizing all humanity and shared planet and develops international-minded people. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 – 12 nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.

Experiences at early ages are assumed to be the basis for all future learnings in PYP. PYP is a programme in which knowledge is not sufficient by itself. Therefore, concepts, skills and attitudes along with knowledge are aimed to be improved. The universal values are the tools that must be for all courses. An international-minded person is the one who represents the IB learner profile attributes.

As Gökkuşağı International Schools,  we aim to educate students who are inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk takers, balanced and reflective through the PYP Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization which is one of the world’s most distinguished educational organizations.

Ümraniye and Bahçelievler Gökkuşağı Primary Schools were accepted as PYP candidate schools in mid 2014. After long preperations, feasibility studies and professional development training for teachers, these campuses asked IB for PYP authorization in 2018. Gökkuşağı Schools is continuing its journey of international education confidently.
